Attention Parents and Guardians,
We are postponing the course information night scheduled for Thursday March 1st to Tuesday March 13th.
The weather is forecasted to take a turn over the next couple of days. Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning forecasting strong winds and heavy snow until Thursday night. They are recommending postponing non-essential travel as visibility will be reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow.
The second semester early dismissal days are scheduled for next Wednesday and Thursday, February 21 and 22. All South Peace Campus teachers will be available to meet with parents and guardians with the following schedules:
February 21: 2:06pm-4:00pm
February 22: 2:06-3:06 and 5:30-7:30pm
We ask parents and guardians to call the school 250-782-5585 to schedule an appointment to meet with teachers.
During yesterday's assembly, Dawson Creek Mayor Dale Bumstead and Councilors Wilbur and Rogers gave a presentation to students on the importance of citizenship and social responsibility. The City is looking to engage young people in the long-term planning process of Dawson Creek's City Plan. Students were encouraged to seize local opportunities and to participate in civic engagement.
For the safety and comfort of all students, it is advised students have appropriate winter apparel (winter coats, hand, head and foot wear) while riding the bus. Unknown circumstances and delays may arise at any time and it is important students are dressed appropriately for winter weather.
Congratulations to the DCSS Jr. Girls Volleyball team on winning the Provincial Championship this weekend in the lower-mainland!
