Welcome to the New School Year

Welcome back students, staff and families to the 2016/17 school year.  Just a couple of information pieces.
The school office is open this week for new registrations and for anyone that has questions.  Any students wishing to make schedule changes or get their lockers will have to wait until next week.  Counsellors will be back in the building on next week and are available to meet with students on Thursday and Friday.  Please note that new registrations are our first priority when it comes to scheduling.  Lockers will be available starting Thursday September 8th.

Red Carpet Live Stream

Videos of Graduation Ceremony and the Red Carpet

For the DCSS 2016 Graduation ceremony and the Red Carpet Event, these events will be videotaped.  Both of these videos will become available to the Grad Class and parents in a number of ways.  The video will be available to be viewed via Eagle Vision Video Productions Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/EagleVisionVideoProductions) after the weekend and a download link will also be available for anyone to download the videos.  The download link will be provided at a later date.

Red Carpet Live Stream and Road Closure Notice

The Red Carpet Event will be projected inside the upper lobby of the events center.  There will be a number of backdrops set up in the upper lobby for more formalized photography opportunities.  New this year! The Encana Events Centre will provide a live stream via Facebook Live on the Encana Events Centre Facebook page - www.facebook.com/encanaeventscentre -  for the arrival of grads during the Red Carpet event! Join us Saturday here on Facebook starting at 6:00PM!

First off, our thoughts are with those of you who have been affected by the flooding in Dawson Creek and surrounding area.  Here is some information about the upcoming week and the end of the school year.  If you have any questions please contact the school on Monday.
Monday and Tuesday block rotation and schedule
Monday June 20th: 80 minute blocks, ABCD rotation
Tuesday June 21st: Regular Tuesday rotation (BADC)
Wednesday June 22nd – Wednesday June 29th
-       Provincial Exams are in session

Grad Information

First off, our thoughts are with those of you who have been affected by the flooding in Dawson Creek and surrounding area.  All Graduation related events will happen as originally scheduled next week.

The Scholarship and Bursary Awards night will take place on Monday, June 20th.  The event gets underway at 7:00pm in Unchagah Hall.  Phone calls will be made today and tomorrow to the families of students who have won an award.

School Closure Update

URGENT - School Closures in Dawson Creek & Moberly Lake

Schools in Dawson Creek and surrounding rural area and Moberly Lake Elementary School will continue to be closed on Thursday June 16, 2016 and Friday June 17, 2016. No personnel will be in the school building, please do not send or drop off any students.  The buses in Dawson Creek and Chetwynd areas will not be running on these dates. Schools in Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge will remain open until further notice. Please continue to refer to the school district website for more information.

Schools Closed Today

URGENT - School Closures in Dawson Creek

Due to the flooding, road closures and potential road closures all schools in Dawson Creek and rural areas (including Devereaux Elementary, Parkland Elementary, McLeod Elementary, Rolla Elementary, and Pouce Coupe Elementary) will be closed today, (Thursday, June 16, 2016).  All schools currently have personnel in them; however, please keep your child at home as we cannot ensure emergency services will be available in the event of an emergency.  Any children at school should make arrangements to get home.
