First off, our thoughts are with those of you who have been affected by the flooding in Dawson Creek and surrounding area. All Graduation related events will happen as originally scheduled next week.
The Scholarship and Bursary Awards night will take place on Monday, June 20th. The event gets underway at 7:00pm in Unchagah Hall. Phone calls will be made today and tomorrow to the families of students who have won an award.
Grand March Practice will be held on Thursday June 23rd at 12:30pm at the Encana Events Center. All grads are required to be in attendance as you will receive your cap and gown for the ceremony at the practice.
The Graduation Ceremony takes place on Friday June 24th @ 7:00pm at the Encana Events Center. Graduates are required to be at the Encana Events Center by 5:45pm for the Grad picture at 6:00pm.
A reminder, there will be no Parent Waltz at the end of the Graduation ceremony. Parents will be allowed down onto the floor during the ceremony to take pictures of their graduate and there will be backdrops set up on the floor to take pictures during the event (Please see diagram below). Upon completing the handing out of certificates there will be a musical performance and some closing remarks. At that time graduates and staff will exit the floor.
The Dry Grad gets underway at 10:00pm. Doors will close at 10:30pm. There will be no late entries allowed. The event ends at 2:00am and you must be in attendance to win the door prizes. Graduates please ensure on Monday that you have given the school the correct name for your escort so there are no issues at the door.
The Red Carpet and Prom events kick off at 6:00pm. Grads participating in the Red Carpet are asked to be at the Soccer Park parking lot between 5:00pm and 5:30pm to get staged for the Red Carpet. Refreshments and snacks will be available for grads and escorts. The doors to Prom open at 7:00pm and will close at 9:00pm. There will be no late entries to the event and you name must be on the list to gain entry to the event.
