The automated call out system notifying parents and guardians of their children missing classes is currently not working. Please contact your child's teachers or the office for details surrounding attendance.
16 DCSS Students are participaing in the Trades Sampler Program at Northern Lights College. The program is introducing grade 10 students to five trades (carpentry, welding, electrical, plumbing and mechanics) over 3 months. The program also teaches employability skills and provides students with saftey training.
Great career education programs are available at DCSS including:
Students in Ms. Sapergia's grade 11/12 Environmental Science class visited a local farm to learn about sustainable food practices. Students harvested potatoes on the farm and donated the harvest to a local food mission.
The class has upcoming field trips to another farm and to a forestry site.
Parents: Social Media Awareness, Digital Citizenship, and Cyberbullying (90 minute session for parents)
On Sept 18 riders from the Cops for Cancer - Tour De North visited students at DCSS South Peace Campus. The riders pedaled from Williams Lake to Dawson Creek in seven days to raise funds for cancer research and treatments. During the assembly, riders advocated for community involvement and the ability of individuals to make positive impacts on society.
